Kigen GSMA eSA certified eSIMs bring security patching at scale for Physical AI across IoT and consumer market

Kigen is pleased to announce that their eSIM products have achieved certification under GSMA’s eUICC Security Assurance (eSA) scheme and are commercially available for rapid deployments, fulfilling requirements for both IoT and consumer specifications. At a moment, when intelligent devices and physical AI increasingly span both industrial IoT and consumer categories, Kigen is unifying its approach to remote connectivity through a single eSIM compliance strategy that serves both markets.

Kigen’s eSA certification, under the GSMA scheme, validates security assurance across software, hardware, and enablement tools, enabling OEMs and Mobile Network Operators to scale deployments with predictable, certified behaviour for Profile management and Remote SIM Provisioning. Kigen has achieved this essential GSMA certification for its eSIM OS and hardware, satisfying both IoT (SGP.32) and Consumer (SGP.22) RSP standards. Kigen achieved this certification simultaneously for IoT and Consumer standards, enabling OEMs to deliver secure customer experiences across device categories, including smartphones, wearables, smart meters, trackers, routers and IoT modules. Available with the IoT Profile Assistant for eUICCs (IPAe), the new eSIM native agent introduced by SGP.32, Kigen’s eSIMs are ‘plug and play’, supporting simpler integration for device makers to move existing devices using the M2M standard (SGP.02) to new IoT remote management without additional development and reducing time-to-market.

“Kigen’s GSMA eUICC Security Assurance (eSA) certification and GSMA Product Compliance is a strong example of how the ecosystem is turning the latest SGP.32 eSIM standard into operator-ready deployments,” said Gloria Trujillo, the eSIM technical director at GSMA. “Kigen has helped shape the industry work behind SGP.32, and its optimised approach supports scale across IoT and Consumer devices while maintaining the stringent security controls and operational assurances mobile network operators require—so the connectivity that people, communities and industries rely on remains trusted.”

The eSA-certified Kigen eSIM solution utilises Infineon Technologies’ Common Criteria EAL5+ certified SLx17 hardware platform, demonstrating its ability to provide a secure and reliable base for next-generation IoT and physical AI systems, with compliance to GSMA protection profiles.

“Kigen’s eSA-certified eSIMs, combined with Infineon’s SLM17, optimised for IoT and industrial eSIM use cases, provide a critical foundation for the intelligent edge.” said Tolgahan Yildiz, the head of the trusted mobile connectivity and transactions product line at Infineon. Together, we support our customers in defending against emerging threats and in delivering the device-level precision needed to scale cellular IoT. At Infineon, future-proofness and reliability of our products are central to our product development approach, and Kigen’s vision matches ours.”

Product security patching for cybersecurity robustness

Emerging security regulations—including the direction of frameworks such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act—increasingly require manufacturers to patch security vulnerabilities across the device lifecycle. Kigen’s end-to-end solution pairs eSA-certified eSIMs with a scalable IoT remote manager, Kigen eIM, purpose-built and certified for SGP.32 v1.2 under the GSMA Security Accreditation Scheme (SAS). This enables security-certified update and patching capabilities at scale, supporting auditable remediation workflows and maintaining the strict operational controls network providers anticipate. Kigen also supports security updates across various stages of device manufacturing and fleet provisioning.

Proven in multiple industries with lead customers – now in general availability

Kigen’s certified eSIMs and Kigen eIM are commercially available, with 14 global industry players already integrating the combination into commercial Connectivity Management offerings, and 95+ customers in active product development. Kigen is a trusted, proven eSIM vendor, working with global Tier 1 mobile operators and interoperable with 300 operators. Kigen’s certified eSIM OS stack reinforces Kigen’s role in supporting the next generation of intelligent devices.

Accelerating device innovation and operational readiness

Kigen eSIMs are optimised for memory-constrained and energy-efficient IoT devices and are available in the ultra-compact 8-pin MFF4 (2mm x 2mm) package93.75% smaller than 2FF (mini-SIM). Early customer adoption has verified that secure digital profile loading can be completed in the factory within ~2 minutes with Kigen’s In-Factory Profile Provisioning, and the IPAe provides device makers with a ready launchpad to access eSIM profiles globally, including smoother transitions from older RSP standards to SGP.32.

“Kigen’s unified stack and team’s expertise remove the engineering and operational friction that has slowed the adoption of eSIMs at scale,” said Vincent Korstanje, the CEO of Kigen. “Our fully certified platform lets manufacturers ship a single SKU and simplifies how connectivity players serve the burgeoning IoT demand with assurances of endpoint cybersecurity. Crucially, it gives any tech company the ability to build physical-AI devices where connectivity is simple, data can be trusted, and devices are protected by rapid, auditable patching against cyber threats.”

Kigen will showcase the solution and customer deployment examples at MWC Barcelona. Find out more at https://kigen.com/contact/
