WiGL launches an OTA Wireless Christmas Tree

WiGL has announced that over-the-air (OTA) wireless power networks are no longer a thing of the future. WiGL (pronounced “wiggle”) in partnership with the US Air Force’s AFWERX Small Business Innovation Research group and Tactical Financing (TACFI) has moved from an idea to products on shelves. The world’s 1st WiGL-enabled Wireless Christmas Tree, powered by WiGL’s OTA wireless network, has begun shipping.

The transition to commercial products, starting with the WiGL-enabled Christmas Tree, is the next step in the process of WiGL’s mission to transition DoD projects into consumer products. Harnessing AFWERX’s touchless Wireless Power Transfer (tWPT) network development brings consumers the 1st in-home wireless network.

For WiGL, the Christmas Tree is simply the vehicle to introduce the world to in-home OTA wireless recharging of small devices. Having successfully executed on multiple contracts to develop OTA technology for the battlefield, WiGL intends to now educate the public on the value of OTA recharging. WiGL is using the Christmas Tree to prepare the world for the next OTA products in the series.

“The creation of the world’s very 1st OTA wireless power network has been a journey. Meeting and exceeding DoD and regulatory requirements has taken a lot of time, money and focus. Since WiGL solves so many problems, the temptation to pivot and move from product to product has been profound,” said Ahmad Glover, the CEO at WiGL
